A Whole New World - Update from Dee

Well it has been a while hasnt it. Sorry everyone.
If i was to update all that has been going on I
would be typing for the rest of the day so here's
a quick recap.
April 4, 2009 Darren and I tied the knot on the
infield at Premier Speedway, Warrnambool, Vic.
What a fantastic day. Gavin White did the honours
for us, reading from a Premier Speedway Program
in front of the V52 Sprintcar. It was a casual,
fun filled day and we really appreciate everyone
for helping us celebrate our special day. I am
now offically Deanne Mollenoyoux.
If you wish to see any photos of the "Wedding of
the Century" go to FaceBook. Wade Aunger was our
photographer and did a FANTASTIC job.
Before all this took place I had decided to
officailly retire from racing Formula 500's. And
to be honest, I do not regret it one bit.
Everything is in Far North Queensland with my dad
and is for sale. The car is finally sorted out of
its previous bugs and ready to race. It is a bit
of a shame that I feel I do finally have the
car/engine package that I wished for a few years
back (in my wonder years) but to be honest, I no
longer have the ambition or desire to put them to
use. I have lost my racing "fire" which used to
put me to the front, I simply dont care about
winning anymore so definately a good time to hang
the helmet. This does not mean I have lost my
love of motorsport all together.......My KX125 is
my new obsession and I find it as a whole lot
more bang for buck. Good, cheap fun. I can be
found on my bike most weekends, good times.
Speaking of Good Times. My Sprintcar
racing "husband" had a fantastic season this year
(aside from the start and demolishing a few
engines) and brought the V52 home in second place
for the Victorian Eureka Sprintcar Series.
Champion!! He also scored for the year, Victorian
Aggrigate 2nd, Best Presented Car and Crew and
Most Heat Wins. Not to mention a 3rd in the
Easter Sprintcar Trail at Premier. It was
fantastic seeing him up on the podium with Robbie
Farr and Max Dumesny. It was a great year for
podiums for him but there is a time in every
drivers career that they simply have to step back
and priorotize. He will be taking the next year
or two off to consentrate on his business (Swift
Racing Products) and family (I want a bigger
house, lol) Unfortunately racing a Sprintcar
takes up a lot of valuable time and not to
mention money. We just need to "pit" for a little
while. However as a "celebration" of his
successful year, and also a big thank you to his
crew. Darren and a few other drivers took their
cars out to Premier Speedway for a fun day. This
was a day where crew and family (and whoever else
you wished to bring along) could purchase a "day
licence) and have a go at driving the Sprintcar
around one of the most historical and prestigious
tracks in the country. A great time was had by
all. It was hard to wipe the smiles off Darrens
crew all day. I was lucky enough to share in the
fun too. Although it was not my first experience
in a Sprintcar, it was a buzz to be racing around
that track (which I hold very dear to my heart)
in a 410ci Sprintcar. It was always a dream of
mine to do so although in much different
circumstances. I guess that was the closest I am
ever going to realize old dream. How lucky am I?
So thats pretty much my last 6 months. We are
heading to USA for our honeymoon in August (yep,
you guessed right, it will include the Knoxville
Nationals) so Im sure Ill have much more news
after that.

Take care
xoxo

Stampede Series 2008/09 Round 1

A big congratulations to Swift driver and good
friend Jessica Moulden for her feature win at
Darlington last Saturday. What a great way to back
up the absolutely stellar season she had last year.
Also a very proud moment for Kate Searle who
crossed the line in 2nd position making it a 1, 2
finish for the girls. Kate is definately one to
watch this year with her raw talent starting to be
backed by a bit more confidence.
Another big attribute for Kate for doing it on her
own. Kate (though not forgetting those who pitch
in and give her an had when they can at the track)
is her own crew chief, crew, driver, transporter
and sponsor. What a woman, it is definately the
girls year this year, watch out boys. Well done
girls.

Just thought I'd better let EVERYONE know that
Darren Mollenoyux and I got engaged on the

He even had picked the ring (which is perfect) and
had it sized correctly ready to go.

everyone I knew at the Avalon Swap Meet
yesterday :-)
Thanks to everyone for their well wishes, my head

Heat 1 - 1st
Heat 2 - DNF involved in "incident" on start,
damaged the battery.
Heat 3 - wing adjuster was bent in "incident",
didnt realize till I hit the track and the wing
fell forward. Had to let the wing go on the start
so I could change gears then grabbed the wing
adjuster and pulled the wing forward against the
force of racing (it went back under speed) then
did 10 laps hanging on to the wing and steering
with one hand. Did most of the steering with my
feet, very interesting way to get around. Lucky
the car was kinda loose, what an experience.
Finished 3rd with the worse arm pump anyone could
imagine! My arms swelled up so huge and were hard
as rocks, ooooouuuuuucccccchhhhhh.
Started out of 4 in the feature, got up to 3rd
then stuffed up in the wet on the pole line and
finished 4th.
Another eventful night at Cairns International
Speedway....
Big thanks to Dad, Bro and Kev for helping out
during the night and to all the volunteers at
Cairns International Speedway for making the night
possible.
Congratulations to Jamie Korte (Qld #2) on his
feature win.

Blog from Dee

Hi Everyone!
Well if you havent checked out my racing calendar
I am going to be racing at Cairns International
Speedway this weekend.
When I last raced there in June we had the
regulator rectifier play up and ended up running
the heats with a flat battery. It wasnt until the
final we were able to put in an extra battery so
we could get through the race. We ended up coming
home in second spot behind my good friend Bryce
Allen (who has been blistering fast of late, one
to look out for in this years Oval Express Series
for sure).
Hopefully, with the help and dedication of my Dad
and brother Scott, this problem will be dealt with
before Saturday night and we will be back up to
speed.
I sure am looking forward to some sunshine and
warm
weather after the frost and rain here in
Warrnambool.
See you all there.

NORTH QUEENSLAND UPDATE 28/06/08

With the winter months now in full swing, the
Formula 500's once again are in season at Cairns
International Speedway.
A stellar line up of competitors rocked the
northern track on the 28th of June. With names
such as Jamie Korte (current Qld #2), David Baxter
and Deanne Davis traveling from afar to join well
known locals such as Bryce Allen and Glen
Underwood, the night was guaranteed to be an
exciting one.
All drivers had spent the "off season" developing
their cars and engines to try to gain the extra
edge to win.
Car manufacturers varied from Swift, Pace, LGM,
Eagle just to name a few.
A popular choice for engine modifications was
clearly Jettco Developments with Bryce Allen,
Deanne Davis and Jamie Korte all displaying the
Jettco sign on their Yamaha's and Kawasaki's.
It seemed to be the right choice for the night
with Deanne winning heat one and Bryce taking out
heat two and three.
Mother Nature threatened to cancel the night with
light rain before the feature races but it just
turned out to be the moisture needed as the track
became faster.
Allen and Davis started on the front row, once
again ready to resume the rivalry of last year.
Allen was quick to get the jump on the start and
charged into turn one with Davis and Underwood in
tow.
Underwood challenged Davis in the opening laps
before an unsuccessful pass attempt caused him to
momentarily half spin where Davis opened up the
gap between them.
Bryce and Deanne ran fast, clean laps and finished
a Davis Transport 1, 2.
Glen Underwood came in 3rd and Jamie Korte in 4th.
With results like these, it is fair to say Cairns
International Speedway is once again developing
some talented drivers to compete with the best in
this class.
