WHAT IS A FORMULA 500?

A Formula 500 is ultra light, super fast and looks much like a Sprintcar.

 

Engine: 2 or 4 stroke.                                                            

Capacity: 550cc for 2 strokes                                               V39 Qld Title-Carins 2007

625cc for 4 strokes.

 

Fuel: Methanol.

 

Chassis: 4130 Chrome Moly Tubing.

 

Wheels: 10`` Diameter – any width.

 

Tyres: 10`` Hoosier

 

Axles: Front - Beam type

Rear – Splined Aluminum

 

Suspensions: Torsion Bar or Coil over.

 

Shockers: Pro shocks, Carrera, AFCO, or QA1

 

Seatbelts: 5-point harness – 3" (75mm)

 

Wheelbase: Minimum: 1520mm

Maximum: 1676mm.

 

Wheel track: 1335mm

 

Weight: Minimum: 180 kg

Maximum: 270 kg

 

Brakes: Disc. Rear wheel and inside Front Wheel.

Wings: One Overhead and also one on the Front with approximately 12 square feet of area.
